INTRODUCTION:
Responsibility for the Risk Assessment Management Statement at Alert Training UK Ltd (hereafter referred to as “the company”) rests with the Quality Assurance Co-ordinator and head of centre: Damon Saddler. This document states the company’s statement towards the risk assessments at the company premises and student placement/ employer premises whilst carrying out work under its control.

GENERAL STATEMENT:
The company recognises and accepts their responsibilities and statutory duties as stated in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999, for providing a safe and healthy working environment for all staff, students, contractors and visitors. The company aims to identify hazards so that action can be taken to eliminate, reduce or control them before accidents occur that cause injury or damage. The risk assessment process will be suitable and sufficient and completed by a qualified assessor, they will be recorded on a company proforma and will follow a programme of assessment as follows:

Define the task or process to be assessed
Identify hazards
Eliminate hazards or reduce to a minimum
Evaluate the risks from residual hazards
Develop precautionary strategies
Train personnel in new work methods
Implement precautionary measures
Monitor performance
Review periodically and revise as necessary

The period of review will be 12 months or if any significant change occurs to personnel, process or equipment.

All risks assessments are held at the company premises and all staff will be supported in their understanding, training and implementation of the risk assessment process. Any concerns or incidents will be communicated directly to the Quality Assurance Co-ordinator and head of centre: Damon Saddler.
