Who is this qualification for?
The Team Leader/Supervisor apprenticeship is suitable for individuals who are working in a first line management role. Occupations may include: supervisor, team leader, project officer, shift supervisor, foreperson or shift manager.

Minimum of 12 months

Topics covered
The apprentices’ journey begins with a period of learning, development and continuous assessment which covers the full range of knowledge, skills and behaviours required within the Team Leader/Supervisor environment. Knowledge covered includes:
• Supporting, managing and developing team members
• Managing projects
• Planning and monitoring workloads and resources
• Delivering operational plans
• Resolving problems
• Building relationships internally and externally

ILM Level 3 Diploma for Managers
As part of this apprenticeship the learner will complete a standalone qualification for ‘ILM Level 3 Diploma for Managers’. The objective of the qualification is to perfectly align to the on-programme leadership and management elements of the Level 3 Team Leader/Supervisor Apprenticeship. Designed for Level 3 managers with operational/project responsibilities or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome. They provide direction, instructions and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals.

Assessment method
The End Point Assessment for the Team Leader/Supervisor apprenticeship is made up of four components:
• Knowledge Test using scenarios and questions (30%)
• Structured competency-based interview (30%)
• Assessment of portfolio of evidence (20%)
• Professional discussion relating to CPD activity (20%)

English, ICT and Maths
Apprentices will need to achieve Level 2 in English and Maths prior to taking their End Point Assessment if equivalent qualifications have not already been achieved prior to enrolment. Some standards may require ICT.

Off the job training
Apprentices must complete 20% off-the-job training whilst on programme. Specific rules govern this, and it must take place in the apprentice’s contracted hours.

Cost and funding
Eligibility for funding will be established on an individual basis.
